Not a fan of his music but I know he was very kind and gentle to his fans,he often shared a beer with them after shows. So sorry…

He wrote to me during Lockdown. He knew I was a Nurse working through it and wanted to make sure I was OK. Before that, he had guestlisted my wife and me to one of his shows as a wedding gift and we hung out with him after the show. He was special. He was different. It’s devastating.

I met again him in Glasgow in May and he was in a great place. It doesn’t seem real.

Yes this! a couple of friends of mine used to chat a lot with him after gigs here in Italy. Much respect when celebrities act like that, a real interaction between persons. I remember feeling like this when Bowie died. So sorry Paul!

Really gutted about this. His music meant a lot to me and I loved the times I saw him in concert

You recorded a video of him saying Hi to me after one of them! Circa 2007

A wonderful musician and, by all accounts, an even better human being. Gone far too soon. RIP.

What a lovely story about him, Paul. What a loss, indeed- so talented, and very haunting to see him performing just before his crash. There’s something about seeing someone being so very much alive just minutes before they pass- I can’t get that performance out of my head.

I was so lucky to see The Swell Season last summer. I loooove Low Rising; it’s one of my favorite songs. ‘Once’ is one of my favorite films, and it was a dream of mine to hear ‘Falling Slowly’ live. Glen was fantastic, warm, and earnest on stage. It was such a captivating concert, I almost felt like I held my breath the entire time.

Thinking of his loved ones. 🙁

Such sad, devastating news. I had hoped to see him in the next few years when he came back to the States. I’m regretting that I missed my chance this past year. It’s also heartbreaking to think about all of the music we will never hear from him. He had such talent and I am thankful for what he has put out there through the Frames, the Swell Season, and his solo music.
