Message Board › General Chat › New York suggestions
I am going to New York for the first time in October. I am after suggestions of things that aren’t on all the ‘first time in New York’ or usual ‘must see’ lists that anyone thinks are worth going to. Would like to hear suggestions about places to appreciate the city from a different perspective. Happy to get the subway to travel a bit further out.
I am travelling with my 14 year old on my own so as much as I would like to hear about some great bars, due to the restrictions of not allowing in children, apparently it’s not the done thing to leave your child in a hotel room while you spend the early evening enjoying the local bar culture!
Go to the 911 memorial exhibition. La Esquina for some Mexican food. Treasure Club on Orchard and Canal for drinks. Ride the subway. Woo!
Thank you. Will add them to the list. Treasure Club looks like somewhere I could spend a bit too long in!
My suggestion for something different: the Urban Hawker (a Singapore inspired food court not far from Times Square). Cats About Town Tours. Something ‘classic’: MoMA, Met Opera
Great. Will look into these – Urban Hawker sounds good – thank you
