I‘m sure many of you have met the band members in person – most often after a show.

Any funny or heartwarming little moments you’d like to share?
No need to write a lot – a sentence or two is totally fine. Just would love to hear some real-life stories.

Stories about any of the guys are welcome*/ω\*)

My first one was not after a show. I drove 2 hours from my hometown to the airport (Istanbul) to welcome them. And they were sooooo nice even though we chatted for couple of minutes. Second was after Newcastle show and we were able to chat with all of them and got our records and t-shirts signed and again even though they were tired they stood there with us in the freezing cold 🙂 and Dougie was wearing the scarf I gave him after soundcheck!!!!!! I was ecstatic! Third was in Milan with Andy and Dougie before the show and before they started their rehearsal as I went there quite early:) ahhh and also Nicky as well, they are all so lovely and friendly

Lovely story – thank you! I bet your scarf was great, Dougie would’ve loved it. And I absolutely agree, the boys are so nice. They deserve it. ヾ(≧∇≦*)ヾ

It’s the one he wears on my avatar so yes I think he liked it a wee bit 🙂

I’ve met them more times than I can remember. My favourite time however was the wee premiere for the Everything At Once film at the Grosvenor Cinema in Glasgow, and drinking with them, their families and other fans afterwards til the wee small hours.

A selfie of my wife and me from that night is one of my favourite photos of us – and even made it onto the ‘Thank You’ cover of Good Feeling when they reissued it for National Album Day.

That’s amazing – so jealous of all those meet-ups! And that photo on the album is beautiful. Best wishes to you and your wife 😊

Hola peeps… mine isn’t a heartwarming story about the band but a little bit of trivia…

I found out this year that Neil and i share the exact same birthday. I was always chuffed we had same date but this year i realised same year too!

We share with Kurt Cobain & Ian Brown so it’s quite a musical birthday!

Sorry for trivia & look forward to reading all of your stories!

That’s a fun coincidence – same birthday as our Neil! 😄 Thanks for sharing. Hope you’re enjoying the thread!

As a teenager Travis were one of my favourite bands and I got to meet them backstage during their The Man Who tour when the played Aberdeen Music Hall. My friend had managed to contact their management to support a charity event where they came to our school during the day, taking time out of their very busy schedules at the time! Anyway I remember all the band being really nice but my teenage illusions of backstage grandeur were shattered that day when it was just really a wee room with a few sandwiches!!

Also remember Travis headlining gig on the green in 2001 in Glasgow. That was a fun weekend but made me laugh at the crowd split. I think Travis were the Sunday headliner and the Saturday had acts like Eminem, Papa Roach and Marilyn Manson playing. Not sure how much of a crossover there is between the fanbase. I remember arriving on Saturday in my Travis t-shirt to a sea of black t-shirts and goth kids!

Wow, just a small room with a few sandwiches – that really says something about how down-to-earth they’ve always been. No rockstar fuss, just genuine kindness.

And your story about wearing a Travis T-shirt to a festival full of goth kids and black tees? That really made me smile 😂 Two completely different worlds, yet somehow you were right there in the middle of it all. Thanks for sharing these lovely memories – really enjoyed reading them!

My Mum accosted poor Fran in the airport in 2008. He was so kind to speak to me on the phone. He signed my mum’s boarding pass. I just heard my mum say to him as she walked away “enjoy yer concert, son!”.
I was then lucky enough to meet Fran again during the Glasgow bus stop tour. I stopped at the Barras with my camera and got some of the sweetest photos of Fran meeting a greyhound too.
My dream is to photograph the band in my studio in Bridgeton. I’ve had a few “well Kent faces’ through my door but you are actually my dream. Thanks for everything!

At the Mercury Lounge gig I gave Fran a doll I crocheted of him. I’m sure the band gets fan art and gifts all the time, but one day my IG notifications started going crazy and I found out the band was featuring “Mini Fran” in loads of stories/reels prior to their South American tour, helping pack suitcases and hiding concert tickets around various cities for fans to find 🙂 Management later reached out and arranged for me to meet them backstage before their next NYC gig so I could give Andy, Dougie, and Neil their dolls and have the “Mini Invisible Band” reunited! I even made Fran a little Huey doll to go along with his 🙂 Everyone was so incredibly sweet and I was really glad that they noticed and appreciated lots of the little details I put into my work. Pictures and videos of the dolls were featured in the band’s 2024 and 2025 year-end wrap-up posts so I’ve just been really, really happy that they loved them so much.

When I was 16 I did work experience at their record label a year or 2 before I started uni. Was just after the first record came out I think so that started my early connection. There was a whole crew of us who met on the original messages boards and one of them, Storme, is still my best friend to this day! We all were lucky enough to be around the bands loads in the early days at TOTP, when they recorded Hit my baby one more time live on Radio 1 & I have a photo of Fran cheering on the tour bus as they found out The Man Who had gone to number 1! Such happy memories from the best bunch. I love that this had made a return. The old lot best find their way back here!!

OMG! I think I’m just a lucky girl because I have seen them a lot of times! My top best warming experiences
1.In Aberdeen after Hogmanay (New year Eve) @Sirius @Saraspain, a Norway girl (I forgot her name) and me gave them funny hats and they use it. All of them were so friendly!! I was homesick and I really had one of the best new years eve ever!
2.Several years ago I met Fran outside a radio station, were just my sis and me, Fran went out and we had a long chatting, I had a hard time and his words helped me a lot that time.
      3. The last time in Mexico city I gave them a t shirt I made it (based on LA times art) and they liked it!
      Also, I met Clay! 😅
