Long time poster since 99 and so glad it’s back! With all the recent hype with Angine De Poitrine I’m wondering what the band, and other boardies think of them?

I wasn’t thrilled, maybe because I saw a lot of news about them at the same time, and I’d already heard ‘Captain Beefheart Trout Mask Replica’ and didn’t find it strange 🤣🤣

I love the music, though I realise that they may not be in the position they are now without their image, for me it kind of detracts from the music a bit. Love that they have managed to do something different and interesting with a guitar and drums, though I think without lyrics and melody and the emotional thrust of the human voice, rock music never connects in the same way for me.

I can’t see them, it’s a weird feeling, I guess I have trypophobia, maybe that’s why I don’t like them.

Gd Morning, The costumes are zany although they remind me of pinocchio meets blackadder – As for the music, clever for sure but that will always work only on a level, emotion and melody are still what make great songs. Tbh, since the age of 15 I became averse to what the zeitgeist or indy window said was cool – but for now AP are a fun distraction and a great catylyst for daft memes!! x

Personally I think they’re brill! Very talented guys, and I just like the fact they’re verrrry different. 😂

I adore classic songwriting and pop songs, but on the other hand, art is also about weirdness and trying new things, right? They defo rely on the novelty factor with the costumes, but it’s a lot of fun. The main thing is the grooves and riffs they get going are just so good.

As an instrumental band with no drums and just two people playing, I do suspect they’ll struggle to keep coming up with compelling stuff though. 🤔 Time will tell I guess!
