Sorry for writing this here, but its a little bit Travisy. On ebay, I've bought "Someone Like You" by Roald Dahl (yes, because of the same cover as OTJS). And I told the seller I'll transfer the money (from Germany) to his bank and asked (three times!) for the BIC and IBAN numbers - for EU transfers. But he doesn't answer! He only sent me a reminder to pay!!! But if I payed it with the "normal" account numbers, it will cost me more than 25 Euros for the transfer instead of nothing if I use BIC/IBAN. Does somebody of you UK's know if there are those numbers usual at an HSBC bank? And what would you do in this case?
Thanks so much! |

Don't you have something like a pre-payed card? Or something you can use with paypal? Usually if I buy things on ebay I use paypal... It's safer and quicker.
I'm sorry but I don't know those codes... >_<°

Hi!!!
I am unfortunate enough to have a job in finance so I can try and help.
Most bank accounts have BIC and IBAN numbers and are able to accept transfers from other EU countries. The seller should be able to get these from his bank statement or by contacting his bank.
If you have no joy from this I think Eledh's idea is best. You would be better opening a paypal account.
Hope this helps!!?

Thank you so much!!! And it was also my opinion that IBAN/BIC numbers are standard in EU... I haven't got an email from them up to now. Another alternative was to call them, but my english is not so good to have a good (and short) call. So I'll act in your advice and pay it with pay pal. I've done that only once, but I studied the pay pal sites and I'm confident that it will work. It will!!!
So, thanks again!!! |
