I'm here (For more than five minutes this time), I was wondering the same thing. I think I'm about to download some tunes...or something.

I'm reading Candy Girl. It's by Diablo Cody who also wrote Juno. Pretty witty so far.

Wow, it is like crickets in here. Haha, I should try to get to 1k tonight. It's not like I have a problem flooding my own message board with inane postings.

Anyway, I haven't seen Juno. I'll probably end up catching it on HBO eventually. I never go to the movies anymore, and it's not because I don't have anybody to go with, I prefer going by myself actually....but I just never think of it.

I haven't read a book in ages either. I don't know what my deal is, I just can't find anything to get into lately.

High school really turned me off to reading. I use to love it before HS but in Comm. Arts we would disect the books so friggin' much you ended up hating it by the time you were done.

Ugh, I hated doing that. And I was always WRONG in my interpretation. How is that even possible? Honours English can suck me.

I actually only liked two books I ever read in school: To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Great Gatsby. I really do love reading though, but every book I've started I've lost interest in halfway through.

I feel the same about high school english. I don't mind interpreting the books and all for a bit, but it is just overkill. I also loved To Kill a Mockingbird and The Great Gatsby! And The Sun Also Rises.

A Separate Peace <--------Worst book EVER!

I dunno about that....I had to read "Their Eyes were Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston and "A Lost Lady" by Willa Cather

My most hated High School English book was the fucking Scarlett Letter. Ughh, I hate it, it makes me curse.

Me TOO! Those were the only one's I managed to like at the end off all of it. They're under my favorite books in my profile. :o). I bet I would've like Catcher in the Rye but MY GAWD my teacher was trying to arrive at the meaning of the book by using JD Salinger's use of rings, ducks, and the color red. It was a total turn off.

Yes, Lindsey. A Separate Peace sucked some major ass. My brother's friend wrote, "PHINNY DIES!" In the front cover of his book after he got done reading it.

Oh I read Antigone too. That wasn't too bad.

I think I'm catching the boardie bug that was going around last week.

I was sick last week too...still have a stupid cough. Maybe I have the whooping cough.../hypochondriac ;)

Anyways, I never had to read any of those books you guys named. Thank god. My high school years were a blur of useless paper writing, speeches, and a reading list for Honours English which wasn't what everybody else in the world was reading, I guess... for better or worse. *shrug*

And I hate analyzing art of any kind. That's probably why I failed at art school. I'd just want to stand up there and say, "It doesn't MEAN ANYTHING. I wanted to paint a flower and that's what I painted!" Bah, the search for greater meaning whether there be one or not, an exercise in futility!
