Here's what my darling emailed me earlier about his visit to Manchester today :
"Fooking horrible...like the oxford street but the size of a city...chains store for miles...all single mums with tri wheeled prams, ugg boots and ipod nano's...fucked up and sick."
Anyone around to comment on the place and description? Am genuinely curious and never been.

I really liked Manchester when I visited 2 years ago. Food was good at the gastropubs. I even saw a friendly at the Old Trafford. People were nice. I'd love to go back!!

And now for a less emotive answer, it's a great city! Well, depending on whether you enjoy shopping, going out and other such things... People are generally really friendly, and the chippies are muuuch better than anywhere down south!! You got good football there as well!

ANd ohhh my god, the lads are fit!!! :D
And it gave birth to the best bands in the world! (excluding Simply Red, we are all allowed to make a mistake eh)

Woah woah woah woah...no Manchester thread can be made without my input!

Oxford Road is the more student bit and isn't exactly the best place in the city to visit. There's lots of nicer places depending what you want to do and where you want to go. I'm not saying all parts of amazing but a city is a city and i love Manchester and will never leave!

Oh yeah this brings me to another good point bout Mancunia <3 Bands seem to like leaving Scotland off their UK tours. Why is this?!?! But yeah, they almost always play Manc.

Come on Gladders, you're an out-of-towner that visits Manchester from time to time, what's your (non sarcastic!) opinion?

seems like all of you like or love the place but really...is it great cause of shopping and drinking? That's pretty much what I get from your posts.
Anything "nice" to see there?
