This song has been on my mind non-stop for days now. There's something hypnotic about it; I remember when it was uploaded to this site just when I'd moved to Glasgow. I sat at the internet café all the time just to hear this song.
What do you think about this song? |

Currently my MySpace song, my Mom's favorite Travis song and definitely ONE of my favorites too! I love that there are gypsies in the video because that's always what comes to mind when I listen to it. The words, the melody, all the instrumentation...it's just so beautiful and hypnotic. And because the video was filmed in Warsaw, it holds an extra special place in my heart. |

When I play Travis to my mum, it's more like "that's nice, dear". I think I have a cool mum, but not when it comes to music :o)
When I hear this song, I just wanna close my eyes and sway to the music. Like I said, it's hypnotic! |

Oh hypnotic! Good word to describe it. I can play it over and over again and not get tired of it. It is either my favorite or at least top 3. It was also the 1st TRAVIS song I heard! |

I like the song very much, but I prefer the Haarschnitt video to the "official" one.
I bet my mum hasn't even heard of Travis, lol. My kids sing along to Closer when I play the latest album, but they only know Travis because of my interest. |

I doesn't help, though. I think there must be some kind of universal rule, that children can't like their parents' music. Before Christmas my 12 years old gave me a list of songs to download from iTunes for a Christmas present mix. I haven't listened to those since buying them.
Here's the list:
Love Is Wicked by Brick & Lace
Chemistry by Velvet
Fix Me by Velvet
...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman by Britney Spears
Toxic by Britney Spears
Gimme More by Britney Spears
Whenever, Wherever by Shakira
Beautiful Liar by Beyoncé & Shakira
Shut Up by Black Eyed Peas
Baby Love by Nicole Scherzinger & will.i.am
Hot Stuff (Let’s Dance) by Craig David
In the End by Linkin Park
I can blame myself for Baby One More Time being there, since I played the Travis version to her first...
The same kid loved ABBA as a toddler. |
