My dad just sent me a link for this site
Pandora Radio

You type in an artist you like and it then starts playing things in that genre that you probably would like. Of COURSE I typed in Travis. It played Driftwood and now is playing Elliott Smith.

New music is only dangerous to the pocket book. It's great for the ears though...and my sanity.

I totally agree. I've given Panora a little break, it was getting expensive. The LastFM radio is actually pretty similar, have to be careful with that, too.

Right now I'm registered for the free version. Will that change at some point or do they just work hard to try and get you to purchase music?

Today I'm planning to put in weird things like "Muppet Show Theme Song" to see what it throws back at me.

I think they're trying to keep it free. The expense comes from finding new music to buy ;^)

That's exactly it. I've purchased about 30 albums from this year alone. (not counting a few from previous years) IN-SANE. I didn't even realize it until I compiled my year end list. :-o.

I still have ten or so on my 'want' list too!
