We did a short video interview with Fran and Andy, asking just one question: "What is really important to you?" They talked about their sons. How strange it felt to become a dad, dad and lad-day in the london zoo... You can watch it here.
Enjoy! And have children ;) |

Thank you for sharing *_*
I knew they love their children but... *_*
They are so sweet when they talk about them.
Really.
And... *_*
That was just... One of the sweetest thing that I've ever heard.

I felt like Andy after my first daughter was born. I tried to explain it to my friends. No one can prepare you for how much you will love that baby. It's a different love than you've ever felt before--unlike love for your parents or love for your spouse. It's like a new chamber of your heart opens up that you never knew you had. When your second one is on the way, you wonder how you will ever be able to love another child the way you love your first sweet, adorable, smart, funny, wonderful baby. And then the miracle happens again...and you do. |

Why Does It Always Payne On Me Posted Wed 07 Nov, 2007 12:46 AM |
Augh. I sort of tell myself that the baby thing is overrated and that it's just some egotistical act... having a little clone of yourself to find adorable and love and coddle.
But then there's the part of me that just MELTS at the sight of a cute baby, or a toddler running around and laughing and such. Oh, the dilemma!
Now... I'm as cynical as they come (well, not really, or I'd straight up hate babies, yes?), but I must admit that that interview made my lower lip quiver in a trying-not-to-wibble sort of way.
I reckon (if I ever have a baby [I can hear your screams of horror]) that my reaction will be like Fran's. "Huh."
Thanks for sharing! And Architecture In Helsinki (I almost weep when I think that I missed them here just last week)... and Art Brut interviews too! Lovely. Lovely.
Bless. |

I definitely had an experience like Fran with my kids. At first I felt interested but not crazy in love. The love grew and now is overwhelming. And I am such a momma lion. I'd take anyone down who harmed my kids.
But Turtleneck, I definitely had the worry when I was pregnant with #2 that it would be different. For a few days it felt like she was an interloper but she soon had us all wrapped around her finger.
I wish Neil could have spoken about his girls. I bet he is the biggest sucker. I imagine him tolerating having his nails painted, feather boas, the whole bit. |
