My husband and I sobbed. For so maNy reasons but mainly because I'd truly lost faith in my fellow Americans when Bush was re-elected and I didn't know if the tide could ever be turned back. I should have known...YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks Fran! However, there is bad news in California. It looks like prop 8 is going to pass, which will take away the rights of same sex couples to marry via constitutional amendment. Take away the rights. |

It was the same in Detroit. On the radio they said part of Woodward Avenue had to be closed because of the celebrations.
I'm happy with the result. What gives me the most hope is that we will now have a leader that the rest of the world is willing to work with. That was a major factor in deciding my vote.
If I hadn't been on this board, I would NEVER have realized how closely the rest of the world was watching this election. I'm very surprised, but pleasantly so.

KAYTE!
That is the greatest picture! Look, he even loves animals!
Heard about prop 8. That is ridiculous and sad. I dont understand why 2 consenting adults can be denied the right to be married. |
