Ah, and IMHO those four songs from the third album are one of the greatest songs ever (maybe not Follow The Light though). Everytime I listen one of those I feel almost complete. |

Why Does It Always Payne On Me Posted Mon 03 Sep, 2007 7:38 PM |
I feel badly, because I heart this band to death... but that being said...!
Chronological order, because I am suffering from a severe lack of things to do:
Good Feeling: I Love You Anyways, More Than Us, Falling Down (although it used to make me all emotional when I first heard it)
The Man Who: As You Are, Luv (*FOAMS AT MOUTH*), She's So Strange
The Invisible Band: Dear Diary, The Cage, Safe, Indefinitely, aaaand SORT of, the Humpty Dumpty Love Song. Depends on my mood. Oh, and Ring Out the Bell. (Sorry, Dougie!)
12 Memories: Peace the Fuck Out, Paperclips (it's... is it finished?) Amazingly, I'm kinda the opposite of most folks in that 12 Memories has the least songs that I dislike...
The Boy With No Name: One Night (auuuugh), Under the Moonlight, New Amsterdam (I like Sailing Away though!.... and Big Chair, I have to be in the mood for.
When all is said and done... Ah luh yoo, Trabis. |

I think Hazy Shades of Gold fits into this catagory for me. It's not bad like I won't listen to it. I think it rocks. I just think the lyrics are kind of... uh asinine. And the part of the song where Fran's shouting at Dougie is so random. But I still love the track, and I listen to it all the time. You know what I mean? I guess I'm saying if any other artist put this out, I would think it's stupid. But since it's Travis I'm all over it. |

I thought this thread died awhile ago, but since it is up again I will add my two cents. I'm going to go the route of "if I had to choose one song on each abulm to ditch" these would be the songs:
12 memories: Paperclips
Good Feeling: Funny Thing
The Boy With No Name: Under the Moonlight
The Invisible Band: Dear Diary
The Man Who: The Last Laugh of the Laughter |

That's interesting, I find the end of that album the most boring few minutes they've produced (except Last Train - that is such a good song!) |

Oh, you really are pulling at my heart strings, aren't you?? How can you not like "More than us" It's beautiful in every way. The rest I have to kind of agree with - 12 memories is excellent and there are very few disappointments. |

The Travis song I don't particularly like...um...probably Afterglow. Or Dear Diary.
I don't really hate any though. S'true. [/quote]
I think so too. If there's Dear Dairy I always change for another song... |

It´s because the lyrics didn´t touch me... yet. I have this problem, I have to spend a long time to get used to some songs!! |
