An historical moment indeed! I'm so very happy! I was so impressed by both Obama's and McCain's speeches last night, and I admit, I definitely got teary-eyed when listening to Obama. It's good to have faith again. |

I went to see R.E.M. last night and they are very pro-Obama, Michael Stipe was following the elections through a cell phone he kept nearby. At one point the big screen showed a pic of him smiling and with a caption I thought was funny:
BaRACK & ROLL!

I'm so happy... I cried when they announced it. I loved his speech. It really feels like we have a chance at a new beginning. That picture Monica put up is amazing. |

Monica wrote: Really happy for you guys. That's the first thing I heard this morning when I woke up. What a nice way to wake up. One of the Spanish newspapers published this on its cover:
(That means: it's not a dream anymore).
I've got it. I've bought El País and La Vanguardia and my sister has bought this one. |

I teach in an American middle school and my 12 year old students were brimming with excitement today. How great will it be for a generation of kids to grow up in a world where they can feel they can accomplish anything they set their hearts and minds to? I know that when I was their age (twenty years ago:), I never thought about our government and how it could make the world a better place, but my students are feeling that way today. I hope that Obama can live up to their expectations. |
