If you fly out of Gatwick on Continental, buy tickets around 2 months in advance, and fly on weekdays, it's usually about $600.
Lots of stipulations there though ;)
Edit: that's the Houston - London price, not sure on Chicago |

I could fly non-stop to Chicago for probably around $250 (125.57 in pounds) (I'm going off the last time I flew there)
I flew from Houston to London (Gatwick) non-stop for $550 (pounds = 276.25).
So I think you would be able to find something cheaper. Or I am hoping. |

Just bought round trip tickets to Houston from Seattle for about $315 a piece and that's 7 weeks in advance |

Cost me $1,150/RT San Francisco to Heathrow (direct flight), August 2006 price. Always more expensive from this coast.
US internal flights are less expensive if you book them well in advance. |

It's something I'd like to do, given time and money and opportunity, not this time though. |

Ahhh nothing like a Wednesday bump of the ABC thread to cure my case of the Wednesdays.
Can't wait for actual dates so we can make some real plans. Hope it's on a weekend as I think I'm going to be taking summer classes. |

My friend went greyhound round the states. he said he lost count of the amount of times his life was threatened
I especially enjoyed the time he was confornted with "WHO'S THROWING CANDY?! I'LL STAB YOU IN THE EYE MOTHERF*CKER!!" |

I might. I don't want to drive all that way by myself. My husband has taken the Mega Bus from Detroit to Chicago several times and it's been fine. Late once. But cheap!
Of course, Nikki and I will probably just ride our motorcycles to the Detroit concert. You know, because we're the Motor City She-Devils. |
