:) It is a good song.

That same station that plays Travis (well...USED TO! They haven't in a while...) also plays Sam Roberts a lot right now.

and it's a better Detriot-y song than Kid Rock!

how can that sweet home alabama song be considered Detroit ? If he was talking bout the 70's maybe but 1989 , WTF

Because at the beginning of the song he says, "It was summertime in northern Michigan." That means that they have to play that song on every station, every hour, sometimes 3 stations at once. It is shoved down your throat whether you listen to alternative, country, or adult contemporary.
And he also ripped off Werewolves of London in that song, too! If you have to use 2 other songs to make yours a hit, that's pretty pathetic.

Zevon ripped off the co writer of werewolves of London and he's dead so that don't matter . But in 1989 listening Skynyd would of been considered retarded . I said that quite often in 1989 . Thank gawd I don't listen to Michigander radio then

but a gentle plug , DON"T overlook this

go out and order this book

You know what else makes me cringe? They've taken one of my all-time favorite songs (Happy Together) and turned it into a terrible bank commercial. They play it every morning while I'm getting ready. This commercial is supposed to run through November. Ughhhh.

Ric, you have a bit in the book or something? It looks scary.

Although the lyrics, "I really think you're groovy, let's go out to a movie," and "You're my pride and joy, etcetera," are genius, Elenore is not the best song. Happy Together is. Most of their songs are fab. That tape is one of two I listened to so much that they kinda wore out.

What's your opinion of You Know What I Mean? It took a while for it to grow on me and now it's one of my faves. It's groovy.
