Now that House has ended for the season, The Disappearing Roommate and Juli Visits San Francisco are all I have to sustain my interest.

Chapter 5 Ciao ??

Over the next few days Stuart was either over at his girlfriend’s place or out getting hammered with his mate Willie. Willie owned his own business he was a mechanic for classic cars, So the two of them used to go for a drive in some fancy car, then go get hammered, it broke up the week when business wasn’t great for Willie. Anyway the point of this was Stuart was either not at the flat or in no state to notice anything strange. Vicky was just far to busy with work & college to notice anything at all. However on the Thursday while sitting in the pub easing himself down gently off of one of his and Willie’s “excursions” Stuart received another phone call from Peter the landlord. Peter was looking for Tony as his rent was now a week overdue. As far as Stuart knew he was around but he hadn’t really been home to see for himself. Stuart now started to think things may be amiss, Tony had questioned Stuart about the rent several days before. Stuart had told him that the way it worked was the rent was due every month on the day you moved in, Stuart had moved in on the 3rd so his rent was due every month on the 3rd as Tony had moved in on the 23rd that is when his rent would be due. Tony wasn’t impressed with this and told Stuart he’d rather pay on the 1st . Stuart told him that was something he would really need to sort out with Peter. A couple of days later Tony had told Stuart Peter had agreed to this, Stuart was not that interested as it had nothing to do with him. However when he received the phone call from Peter looking for Tony he thought it a little strange. Peter related to Stuart the fact that Tony had told him he was having trouble with setting up bank accounts and his relocation payment from Apple as soon as this was sorted he would pay him his rent. Stuart then mentioned that Tony had mentioned he was going to Italy for training. Maybe he had gone early. Stuart returned to the flat with his hangover and basically chilled for the evening, he sent Peter a text about 10pm to let him know there was no sign of Tony, but it wasn’t totally strange as he socialised quite a bit or he could be in Italy as there was still a jacket in the hall and some toiletries kicking around (although his face creams were gone). Peter called Stuart back and asked him just to pop his head around the door and see if his stuff was still there. Stuart explained that would have been easy but Tony was the only flatmate who kept his door locked and the blinds were drawn. Vicky was around the following day, Friday, and said she hadn’t seen him either but this wasn’t strange as she was “Too caught up with her own stuff to be worried about the annoying little sh!t”. After some discussion between all of them they decided not to do anything until Tuesday as Monday was a bank holiday.

Until Amy appeared at the flat the next day....

Can't wait to see what Amy says. I am bursting with a theory. It mainly involves the stepmother.

Tony's face creams were gone? Hmmm, that can't be good.

Chapter 6 Kaiser Soze

Stuart had been taking it easy at the weekend, it was a bank holiday and his girlfriend had time off, So they were both looking forward to getting some quality time together. They had spent a bit of time going on a day trip and breaking it up with frequent visits to various pubs and restaurants. They had then decided to take it easy on the Saturday as Stuart wanted to watch the football and his girlfriend had a family day out at a Rugby Semi-Final. They had decided to go get some breakfast and then meet up later for some more quality time. Stuart had relayed all that had happened to his girlfriend but just to keep her updated and both of them thought nothing of it.They had their jackets on ready to leave when the buzzer went. It was Amy, Tony’s on-off girlfriend. Stuart explained that Tony wasn’t here to which Amy replied “I know”, a little puzzled Stuart invited her in. Then she began to explain.

Tony’s phones had been switched off from Tuesday morning, Apple had not seen him since he left early, complaining of being ill, on Monday afternoon, his facebook profile had been deleted. Tony had told Amy that he had kidney stones and was going into hospital to have them removed. Tony sent an SMS on Tuesday morning to tell her that he was in hospital but may be leaving for Finland very soon as he wasn’t sure his insurance would cover it (a fact later denied by Vicky who knew about these things, You get treated there and then for something like that then quibble about payments later) This was the last anyone had heard from him. Stuart explained what had happened from his point of view, A few things Amy was able to clear up straight away, There was no trip to Italy, There was no early start as no one was out sick. For the first time Stuart began to worry. What if something had happened to Tony ? However, as Amy began to explain, Stuart knew Tony had done a bunk. Stuart explained the situation with the rent and the landlord to Amy, Amy told him, They had all received their money from Apple weeks ago it amounted to about €4000 that plus the €2000 he had borrowed was unaccounted for. Amy also mentioned that when Tony had returned to Indonesia for his father’s death a message had appeared on his facebook page “Having a lovely time in Indonesia with my ex-fiance”, strange for a man supposed to be grieving? Amy was quite distraught, Stuart got the feeling it was nothing to o with the money but the fact she had liked Tony and he had done this to her. Stuart immediately called Peter the landlord and asked if he had a key to the room as he felt Amy deserved to know. Peter spoke with Amy just to clear up some stuff. He then told Stuart he would be down later that afternoon, completely ruining Stuart’s plans. Stuart then called Vicky who was down the country to let her know what was going on, and the whole story so far. Vicky called straight back she was a little more concerned about Tony’s safety and possible state of mind. She also mentioned that since we couldn’t get into the room could it be possible he was still in there. Stuart joked this was unlikely as they would have smelled him by now but was a little shaken.

Peter arrived a few hours later with the wrong keys after heading home and returning with the correct set, Peter and Stuart unlocked the room...
