Yeah, No Cocteaus in the top 10 either... but then I think they've split their votes with different ablums, I think they've 3 other entries.

Yes but still they should have been. I don't think it is fair evaluation really. Which one is anyway? ;-)

It's because you can only vote for each artist once in your top ten, so you have to pick your favourite album, splits the votes..

21 Treasure (if I had to pick one this would be it)
49 Heaven or Las Vegas
72 Garlands

Same with Belle and Sebastian

13 If You're Feeling Sinister (my Favourite)
34 Boy with the Arab Strap
58 Tigermilk

Votes Per Artist....

1 The Blue Nile
2 Jesus And Mary Chain
3 Big Country
4 Simple Minds
5 Belle And Sebastian
6 Aztec Camera
7 Teenage Fanclub
8 The Waterboys
9 Primal Scream
10 Deacon Blue
11 Lloyd Cole and The Commotions
12 Cocteau Twins
13 Travis
14 Franz Ferdinand
15 Orange Juice
16 The Skids
17 The Associates
18 John Martyn
19 Horse
20 The Proclaimers

I understand that but it is not a reasonable way of voting if you ask me. Most people would notice the top ten artist more than the albums. I think each band could be narrowed down with a single album.

I dunno, I would maybe allow 2 albums per artist and they couldn't be next to each other i.e. 1 & 2, maybe that would work better

What is everyone's favourite Scottish album then?

I will need some time to think about this

My original votes...

in no order...

Sunshine on Leith - Proclaimers : Brilliant harmonies a little politics and some good old fashioned love songs
Treasure - Cocteau Twins : I would have around 5 albums in here, but I have to pick the best this is it, simply amazing
One World - John Martyn : I rememer listening to this growing up, Dad played it all the time, Solid Air deserves a mention too
Grand Prix - Teenage Fanclub : Pure Pop, what pop songs should be like
If you're Feeling Sinister - Belle and Sebastian : The B & S album I ever heard and still my favourite
C.O.D.Y.:Come On Die Young - Mogwai : If you haven't heard this go listen now!!
Good Feeling - Travis : back when the boys could rock
The Great Eastern - The Delgados : sickly sweet, but brilliant
Psycho Candy - The Jesus and Mary Chain : Grunge before grunge existed, Nirvana and The Pixies wouldn't exist othewise
10000 Spirits - The Incredible String Band : highly influntial, funny and beautiful folk album

and the Worst....

Popped in Souled Out - Wet,Wet,Wet : if I ever hear this album again it will be a million years too soon.
