I have the three albums I want, the best being Hup!, but would recommend their greatest hits... If The Beatles had Read Hunter.

Also recently heard "Guiding Star" by Cast and "Only the Strongest will Survive" by Hurricane #1 (Prizes if anyone else remembers that song....)
So what tunes haven't you heard for ages that brought a smile to your face recently?
(P.S. old boardies does this constitute an acceptable topic or just more shit forum spamming? ;o)
Three great songs. That's one of my faves from Echo and the Bunnymen. And I love Cast's music, Guiding Star is ace. I thought I was the only one who likes Hurricane #1. I really must look out my CDs of theirs. Haven't heard their stuff for ages. Didn't they use Only The Strongest for a TV ad for The Sun newspaper or something years ago?

I've just stuck on Moody Mooday by Damien Rice. Hadn't heard it in over a year, and there's still no doubt in my mind it's his best work.
I used to be a big fan, but he fannied around and took an age to release a second album (5 years is just too long isn't it?)- and i wasn't terribly impressed with it. But this song is just brilliant! I think it was a b-side to one of the very early singles released in Ireland, can't remember which one. I have a feeling it was on Woman Like A Man EP though... |
