| It's not got a meaning as far as I know but many were the names of the clans of old who controlled large areas of Scotland. 'Mac' is actually more Scottish, 'Mc' is Irish I think |

McBride is of Irish origin I'm told.
But the Scots as a race came from Ireland, hence why there's so much Celtic crossover between the countries. I'd like to think the McBrides were part of the original Scots but it would take a lot of work to find out whether or not they were. |
