Happy Mother's Day to all the boardie mothers! Including those of furry children. Hope you all have a great day. I think I'm going to use my Dairy Queen gift card that I got for my birthday and treat my family to ice cream today. :o) |

THIS, is exactly why you should appreciate your mother today. A day for mothers to be looked after and spoiled and Mum's first thought is to treat her family.

My mother always says she doesn't like Mother's Day because it's become way too commercialised and because you should appreciate your mother EVERY day, not just one day a year ;)
And she's right, but as a daughter, I feel I have the right to spoil her a little once in a while - and Mother's Day is a perfect excuse. So I found a recipe to make her fav ginger-cookies (which aren't available in German supermarkets) and bought some beautiful china cups she used to admire at a store.
Needless to say, for today she changed her mind about Mother's Day, even though her first reaction was calling me crazy and offering me money. This happens every single year.
Yes, I think I'm a great daughter! ;) |

That's Brilliant !!
Making your Mother smile is priceless. This was a brilliant gesture. And for the others, it doesn't take much, even a phone call or a text will make her day. Trust me.

Well, I am in a hostel in Nice, but mama got a present and an email. And as I was eating dinner, I realized it was the exact same thing that they would be having at home, as they order from the same place every year on Mothers Day. (obviously different restaurant, but essentially the same meal)
Happy Mama's Day Boardie Mamas. |

I wasn't the best daughter today. I turned down a dinner invitation to my parents' because of my work situation. I did call my mum, and when I told that my family basically forgot about the day she told me to tell them they're useless, amongst other thingsā¦ I never knew she paid so much attention to mother's day!
Anyways, for me it was ok, pretty normal, good sunday, just annoyed that my mum managed to throw the guilt card about again. |
