Congrats on passing your test, Dubz. But wooo, cuttin' it close there!

Kristy, I hope you find a good job soon. A nice job with nice people who return phone calls.

I guess this means my CV is okay. My interview skills are however probably lacking. Ugh. Applying for a bunch today. hate that closing dates arent for weeks.

What she said. I spent the whole day yesterday sending CVs in my room and the weather was gorgeous! At least today's dark and gross haha.

I HAVE to get that photo trial done today, so I have to leave the house. Sent in a bunch of CVs this morning and am doing the longer application ones tonight after I get banking done and get that damn photo!
I will not spend money today. I will not spend money today.

I decided that wearing a giant flower in my hair will cheer me up. I'm sane and rational.

Yeah, not happy about cutting it that close, thought it would let me review some questions at the end, must have hit the wrong button. I'll need to step it up for the other exams, can't afford for it to be that close again.

On a side note it was weird going back to using a system with Windows XP, I honestly thought it hadn't changed much but when you go back it's quite different.

At least I now know I'll have to be better prepared and what to expect next time.

I'm now a Microsoft Word 2007 Specialist, I need another 4 to become a Microsoft Office Specialist (Access, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint)

Today I saw a mallard duck standing in the middle of the street. He was keeping a close look out. Squirrels were on his list of suspicious characters. Soon, his wife came waddling across the street and they had a splash in a puddle and spent some time in the front yard. I wonder if it is the same pair from last year. I don't live in a ducky area at all, so it's unusual to see them.

My crocuses are blooming again today. Rachel saw a robin. There is a bright yellow orb in the sky, I think I remember it being called the sun.

I'd say spring is here, but chances are we'll get another snow. There is a picture of me at about age 8, flying a kite on my birthday. Then there is another picture taken two days later, of me building a snowman on St. Patrick's Day.

The seagulls are back, fantastic! There's a pair of huge herring gulls who've been building nests on top of the next door building for years (I assume they're the same ones, unless they're the next generation). I kind of like their cries, and root for them in their war against crows.

We also saw a tree creeper last weekend. It must be spring, even though there's a long way to go before all the snow is gone (about 50 cm on the ground).

On the bird front, the first reported eagle owl nest in the heart of Helsinki, on the roof of a shopping centre.

I had an open house today to celebrate my birthday. Saw some old friends, one I hadn't seen in 10 years. It's nice when you can just resume a friendship and it's like not a day has passed. One friend came later, after everyone else had already gone and we had a really deep conversation about where life's paths can lead. It was so refreshing to talk to someone new and get a different perspective on things. One of the most enjoyable talks I've had in a long time. It was a wonderful day and a reminder that I really need to make more of an effort to see friends.

Even if you don't make the effort your true friends will always be there, that doesn't mean you shouldn't make the effort. Treat others the way you expect to be treated. I'm really looking forward to going home in a couple of weeks to see my mates, My Irish mates were also there last Thursday. I wish I could actually tell/show these guys Scots & Irish just what they mean to me, unfortunately I'm an old fashioned repressed Scot and showing feelings is a sign of weakness.

I started the next part of my course and also started a bit of fitness training (walk/run, should be able to run 5k in 8 weeks).

I have to head into town in a wee while and also pay the bloody rent today.

I found out last night that in 5 weeks the people we are staying with have family coming, so we have to be out by then. Which is completely fair enough. They have been so generous to us, BUT that puts things in warp speed. I NEED a job and a flat. I have enough saved to get a flat, but some people won't take you on without employment. I have an interview on Wednesday and I really want the job. And Im qualified. Im going to kick its ass! And started sending emails to view flats. My friend and I wanted our own place, but a flat share looks like the easier route at this pount. It will be cheaper and things will already be set up. Everyone send good vibes for the next few days/weeks. Need things to turn around! GRRR. Getting this shite done!

But, on the bright side, Meggy and I are going to a concert next week. And tickets were only 3 pounds.

Congrats on the first part Dubz, and good luck with this next one! Also, way to go on the fitness training. I need to get back into running. It's been since late November that I ran. At least I've been dancing so I'm not totally out of shape. I've got a race coming up in June though that I should start training for.
