Great pics!
Thanks everyone for posting them!
@Ana: My sister would love that Japanese garden
@Sarah: I agree, your city is too lovely (can't believe you thought we could find your country annoying! no way!)
@Fer: Your city looks very very nice
@Leti: I loooove the pic with the "big smile" ...too lovely! (you have no idea how much I envy you haha)
I love to travel too, I always wonder myself why I'm not millionaire... whyyy???? haha xD
I travelled around many peruvians cities my entire life because my dad and his job. Only once travelled outside my country, to Ecuador, was a nice experience.
The most unbelievable place I ever been was a place called Güepí, is in the middle of the jungle, the heat was terrible but now (12 years later) I'm sure it was a great experience.
Just in case you wonder where is it, here's a map:

Lovely place Sara. In my next trip, and yes, I am going to go back (THINK POSITIVE!!), I will definitely go to France, so I'm going to need all the info possible. After UK, it's my favourite conuntry in Europe... Well, at least I think it is, I've never been there :( I'd love to visit small towns in the countryside, I bet there are tons of them in France! Sit in a cafe and eat lots and lots of bread and cheese with a cold beer (heaven for me). |

Oh, I love castles!! I'm a huge history geek so feel free to post as many pics as you want that take me back in time!!
Some of Uruguay's architecture comes from Spanish and Portuguese rule (before the independence, in the 1800s) so there are some places like the province Colonia del Sacramento (in front of the coast of Buenos Aires) which have remained barely touched in order to attract tourists, but it's quite expensive and the government doesn't have the resources to preserve other areas of historical significance as well.
Take a look:
More views of Montevideo:
Rodó Park
Grey days make me feel like a Londoner in the body of an Uruguayan :P
Commemorating the defense against foreign invasion
The Bank of the Republic, commemorating the 1813 Instructions, the people gathered in a sovereign assembly to declare three fundamental principles: Independence, Republic and Constitution
Artigas, our national heroe, rumor has it that he'll be played by Viggo Mortensen in an upcoming production on Latin American Liberators :) Today we are celebrating his birthday (June 19, 1764- September 23, 1850)
