leti, BRUGES is a wonderful town, i stayed 2 days there, got a few old pics if you want haha :-)
and YES this cheese named Beaufort is delicioussssssss !!
Here some photos of my travel in the mountains of Savoie
May i ask if someone would like to post some pics of his/her own country too, to share a little bit of life and to show me other countries ??? please...
Oh Sara, those pics are amazing. Beautiful places. I love mountains... and those houses look so small...
Yes, I want to see those pics!! I'm a photo freak, I love to take them and look at them : )
Girls, beautiful pics!! I'd love to visit many European cities...the list keeps growing...
I've been lucky enough to travel to some of my neighbouring countries: Brazil, Paraguay, Chile and Argentina. I'm planning on going to Peru, Mexico and UK in the future, but these are only plans so far :)
My first and only time flying was when I went with my family to Rio...so many times I had seen images on TV that once we arrived I felt I'd already been there...
Then, we went by bus to the Iguazu Falls, the Devil's throat was my favourite spot, simply breath-taking!
Two years after that we took the bus to Santiago de Chile, crossing the cordillera has been one of the most unbelievable experiences of my life, to see snow for the first time, trying to imagine what it must have been like for the Uruguayan rugby team that crashed there in the 70s...I felt so lonely and tiny in the immensity and untamed nature...
I was 16 at the time and was reading quite a lot of Isabel Allende's novels...it was great to be in the places she described, the National History Museum was the best place we visited while we were there.
And all these wonderful places and trips are no competition to the best traveling experience I've had until this day. It was 2007 and my sister surprised me with a particular birthday present: a ticket to see Soda Stereo's reunion in Buenos Aires :D
It was our first time traveling alone, staying at hostels and in only four days we walked to all the places we always wanted to know. The concert was our excuse. We went there by ferry, saw sunrise in the middle of the River Plate, almost no sleep and choosing to go to the theatre over dinner (we had to save all the money we could! haha), it was an awesome experience! This time we had our digital camera with us, here I share a couple of pics:
Sunrise - River Plate
A proper breakfast :)
Plaza de Mayo
Japanese Garden
Palermo lakes
Botanic Garden
Resting - La Recoleta Cemetery, no pun intended :P
Memorial, war in Paraguay
Our last night, Florida street said good-bye in style ;)
For those of you who would like to know what my country is like, some pics of Montevideo, I love to live in a place with lots of green spaces, somewhere to walk along the sea side (rambla! I don't know if I could live without it...) and the cultural attractions of a city, all in one:
Rambla! And Montevideo's Bay
A neighbourhood street
The other provinces have so much to offer as well, Salto in the North and the Uruguay river bank:
A small town restaurant
Treinta y Tres and Lavalleja's open country:
I hope this wasn't too much! I love taking pictures and this seemed like the right place to share them. Do the same!! :D
Wonderful pics, everyone! I'd really like to travel to many places (especially Europe and South America) soon. I haven't been to another country, I don't even know a lot of places in my own country, so I don't have anything to add to this thread :o(. Sorry! But I do really enjoy seeing all those fantastic pics of beautiful places all around the world :o).
wooo THANX a lot girls... i LOVE seeing your country :-p so much sun, sea & colours :-o
you learnt me many see, didn't know for The Che Leti and you have so pretty beach ana... it's very instructive :-)
i posted some pics of my trip in the mountains of Savoie but it's not where i live.
Ana you wrote “do the same” but me, i live far from the sea :-(
i live in the Centre of France. My town is Bourges. It's a part of La Route Jacques Coeur that is the more old (older?) touristic tour of France.
At first, it was a village made on the marsh land by The Gauls. It was invaded by the Roman Empire and later it became a medieval (gothic & romanesque architecture) for the Kings & Queens of France...
Can i take you with me for a trip in my old town ? ;-)
La Cathédrale Saint-Etienne (beginning of the building in 1195 - XII era)
here some gauls and roman vestiges, our traditional instrument named "Vielle" , our traditional woman headdress and we are a area of pottery
Our marsh land
Le Palais Jacques Coeur = Jacques Coeur born here in 1400 was the "chartered accountant" of the King of France Charles VII. it's his house.
The town hall =
The post station =
and here is the rest of my town, there are medieval houses every 2 meters haha
