Anybody else been looking forward to the new movie? I just saw it and I loved it. Never saw much of the original Kirk series, more of a Picard fan, so I can't vouch for authenticity. But I thought it was good, exciting stuff. And set in space is always a good.
Anyone else? |

Anton Yelchin! Yeah this cast is 10 times more attractive then the original. |

I'm probably going to see it next Wednesday. By that time I think my boyfriend will have gone to see it at least 3 times, lol. |

One problem: A lot less Simon Pegg then I would have liked...

Saw it on opening night, too. Enjoyed it very much. Pretty good ensemble cast. Very glad J.J.Abrams didn't botch this one! I was in the company of hardcore fans of the original 60s series, and they thought this movie rendition was only 'okay'.
So I didn't watch the original series, but have seen every single episode of each series that came after, from The Next Generation onwards (yes, that includes the excruciatingly painful Enterprise). |

I really loved TOS :D
I always liked the argumentation of Spock and those little fights he had with Bones :D
So I'm really lookingf forward to seeing the beginning after all.
The only thing I didn't like that much was the quality of TOS...(well it's made in the 60ies - I respect that but you could still see wires etc. in the frame..)
But still- it was the one and only! I didn't like any of the next series...
I really liked the episode where they were on a planet - rescueing a pregnant woman - which wanted McCoy to be the father/husband :D

Best episode ever is when they beam down and meet their alter egos, for some weird reason, Captain James T Kirk's runs around the whole time trying to hit Kirk, and shouting "Fight me Jimmy, Fight me" in an Irish accent. The show may have been famous for the first interracial kiss (Kirk & Uhuru) but this episode was seriously bordering on racism. I however think it's hilarious...

Couldn't find it but did find various other Star trek related songs....
Star Trekkin' - The Firm
Where's Captain Kirk - Spizzenergi
Phasers on Kill - Thingamybob
William Shatner really shouldn't bother...
Rocket Man
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Mr Tambourine Man
It was a Very Good Year
Common People
And Leonard Nimoy wasn't much better...
The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins

Aw class, that sounds too funny. I really want to watch all the old series now, I don't actually think I've seen any of it.
I think they're gonna make two sequels to this one, which sounds good to me. |
