TRAVIS star Andy Dunlop wed his beautiful fiancee at a Scots castle yesterday.

The millionaire guitarist wed Jo-Anne Monaghan at Dundas Castle near Edinburgh.

The group's drummer Neil Primrose, who flew back to Britain this week after breaking his neck in a swimming pool accident, was too ill to get to the wedding.

But guests included Travis singer Fran Healey and bass player Dougie Payne - both of whom are to wed their partners later this summer.

A friend said: "It was a very romantic ceremony in the 15th Century Auld Keep. A champagne reception was held on the lawns and the reception followed in the castle's Pavilion."

Andy, 30, and Jo-Anne, a picture editor for Sky magazine, were driven to The Boathouse in the grounds for their wedding night - while 18 close family stayed in the castle overnight.

The weekend had started with a black tie reception on Friday night and guests could play golf, fish or go clay pigeon shooting before yesterday's 3pm ceremony. Groom Andy said last night: "It's been a fantastic day, we enjoyed every minute. Unfortunately, Neil was too ill to travel and we missed him."

Andy saved Neil's life after he dived into a shallow pool as the band holidayed in France. Andy dragged his unconscious friend from the water and gave him mouth-to- mouth resuscitation.

Travis, whose album The Man Who was a massive hit in 1999, were forced to cancel their European tour. A friend of Neil's said: "He was sad to miss Andy's wedding. He so wanted to say a special thank you."

Band manager Ian McAndrew said after the wedding breakfast of chicken liver terrine, stuffed pork, and red pears with raspberries: "It was a very happy day."

Andy, who was brought up in Glasgow by his adopted parents George and Muriel Dunlop, met the other band members at the city's School of Art.

He fell for blonde Jo-Anne three years ago at a celebrity bash in London and she dumped her boyfriend for the guitarist.

One of her friends said: "She simply adores Andy and the couple will make a fantastic husband and wife."
