What's the point of it?
Does anyone use it for anything other than a tally?
Do you find it useful?
Do you even notice it?
I just got a friend request and thought what's the point of this thing. I think I have 21 people on my list now and if you asked me who they where without looking at my page I wouldn't have a clue. Some of you have 100+ people.
Do you actually feel friendly with these people or do you go "errr who are you?" "Ah well I'll add you anyway"
Here's an idea since it's Christmas.
Go to your friends list and send a private message to someone randomly but preferably someone who you don't normally talk to via the board or pm's wishing them a Happy Christmas or some sort of message asking them how there are and what they are up too. Anything you want (within reason people!)
You may find their is a reason after all for it.

I have wondered the same thing at times. At first I thought you could only PM people who were on your friends list, but that's not true.
I think it's a way of saying, "I like you," without having to actually say it. Or sometimes it's a "Welcome to the board," kind of thing.
I have received friend requests from people I haven't even communicated with on the board, and I've accepted mainly out of politeness. But it's no biggie. With the exception of a small handful of people, I think we're all pretty much friends here; or at least friend-ly. |

right, there is no real point. I have talked to people from months and then realized im not even friends with them. It is sometimes useful for finding they name if you want to leave a comment on their wall, but thats about it.
Or I am friends with people that I have never actually talked to.
Hmm, who shall be the 'lucky' one to recieve my pm? |

I had never thought about it... most of my friends are mexican (like me) and I've known some of them...
I think the idea of sending messages is good but, as I usually post in Spanish, I think I´m going to let here some good wishes:

I go into my friends list most of the time :-/ am I one of the weird ones. People I have on ther, well yes I do go in and leave messages and well it's nice to have them there so I can jump straight to their profile rather than searching them on the forums. Hmmmmm
you all are just weird!!! LOL |

| Also, I remember that in those first few minutes/hours of the "NEW" board opening the peeps who were on first where like wooohhhoooooooo we can add friends now so we kinda agreed to add each other....awwww funtimes! And we would send each other messages/PM's coz we could! lol Then gradually those peeps have drifted on to better things(life) or the land or lurkerdom. Guess some ppl have just got LAZY!!!!! lol |
