From imdb,

You just know it's gonna be shit, Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomqvist, he's too young, he's also far too clean, Mikael is a coffee drinking, hard smoking, boozehound journalist. I'm glad they've a relatively unknown playing Salander but again typical Hollywood, she's too good looking, Salander is supposed to be a rebel, who's lived on the streets. It really is gonna be Shite, they'll change the whole thing and it will all end really happily.

Isn't Blomqvist supposed to be not that fit, too (if I remember right)? And yes, Lisbeth is not supposed to be good looking. Hollywood rarely gets these things right, you just can't have ugly or even plain main characters.

I thought the same thing, but wasn't sure as he does a bit of running in the book (in the forest and beach on the island I think). Why didn't they give the lead to Stellan Skarsgård I think he's ideal for Blomqvist. On screen he has an edge that would suit the role, Blomqvist is the hero but that doesn't mean you are supposed to like him, he's selfish, he's a philanderer, he creeps through other people's lives.

Just sitting down to watch The Matrix (again),

Tried watching 16 Blocks earlier but could only manage about 5 minutes of Mos Def's voice, (seriously has he ever been to Paisley cause he sounds like the wee junkie neds from there). I know its exaggerated for that particular movie cause he's in House at some point and it's not that bad. (btw Scrubs was on tonight the won about Emus, Lottery Tickets, etc. contributing to death of a patient. Patient in question was Taub from House)

Both are very good. One Week is Canadian. Joshua Jackson goes on a cross country motorcycle trip when he finds out that he has terminal cancer. Very good, and very canadian. Part of it was shot very near to my families cottage. AND there is a focus on weird giant roadside attractions, which I LOVE!

He's pretty much what I imagined Blomkvist as being like in the books. I don't think Daniel Craig is a bad choice though, I feel he can pull off that whole selfish but likeable thing that Blomkvist has going.

I don't know, I hope so, I just think Daniel Craig is a bit to young, clean & well built. Blomqvist doesn't take that much care of himself, suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Toy Story 3. Excellent. It was sad in the end, as anticipated; however, can't compare to the heartwrenching scene between Jesse and her girl in Toy Story 2. I still haven't recovered from that. Oh, and "Big Baby" with the droopy sleepy eye totallly freaked me out.

Finally saw The King's Speech. It was amazing. I will personally punch every academy member who doesn't vote for Colin Firth. He and Geoffrey Rush were both incredible.

Nice to see Helena Bonham Carter act like a sane person.

I came across an actual speech King George VI gave. You can see how uncomfortable he is. I can't imagine having a stutter and having to address so many people.

Ralph Fiennes, Pete Postelthwaite and Bill Nighy are all fucking excellent as usual, however the storyline is a bit slow and there's far too many flashbacks. Rachel Weiss & other cast also get pass marks.
