Went to see the Scouse legend that is John Power last night. He was fantastic, as were his two mates on bass/guitar and drums. His music is sounding superb these days - really bluesy, dead rootsy. Feet were tapping like fcuk through the whole gig. I'd highly recommend going to see him if you get the chance. Just don't do what a section of the crowd did last night and spend the whole time shouting out requests for Cast tunes. He doesn't play them. Move on, it was ten years ago.

John's Myspace. Have a listen to "Callin' You Back"

I completely missed this thread, I love John Power! I saw him a coupla months ago, fucking fantastic. Was right up the front dancing along, n had a bit of a chat with him afterwards, such a quality geezer. His solo stuff is way way way underrated and overlooked, but I suppose it just means we get to see him in more intimate venues?

Oh, and he's yummyy :D
