People get in that mindset and I think have a hard time getting out of it. But it sounds like this girl was not one to waste your time on anyway. I can understand the draw of challenge to get the "hard to get" girl but if she treats you that way without even really knowing you, she most likely treats others that way too...and trust me, you don't want to go there.
