Anyone ever heard of this bizarre nonsense? Or worse, anyone ever gone through with it, regardless of its alleged 'effects'?

Placing the person on a table with 7 lights pointed at intercals down the subject's body, Each one fulfilling its role in the EM spectrum (basically the colours in the rainbow), starting with red at the top pointed at the head, going onto violet pointed nearer the legs at the bottom.

Apparently doing so will restore lost and unfulfilled energies in the body, allowing for spiritual regeneration. It does this by being pointed directly at the 'chakras', which are like wheels, which turn much like a mill wheel, providing the energy required.

Have you ever heard the like? I'll make a couple of the most significant points, and will leave out my aspersions of insanity (though they be just as valid).

1) Light that is around us all of the time is white light, and already contains all the colours of the rainbow - on all parts of our bodies at all times, there is red orange, yellow green blue indigo and violet just so closely packed that it appears white - specifically putting a plastic filter over a normal white lamp to seperate the colours just means you have the exact same proportion of normal light on you at all times - not going to do anything.

2) Right - a chakra is 'like' a wheel? Its like one...but what actually is it? I don't want a metaphor for how 'best to imagine it' as I'm often told, I want to know what it is.

3) Taking the analogy of the light turning the wheel like a mill, we're basically mixing reality and metaphors - its either like a wheel or its not, the light either turns it or a wheel, or it doesnt.

4) supposing it is a wheel being turned by the light - how exactly are these highly de-energised photons capable of turning anything with mass, even if minute - even if lesser than a nuon? If this is really happening, the people who practise this really need to get to a patents office and show that theyve disproven einsteins both special and general theories of relativity, found a renewable source of energy for the worlds power crisis.

5) If these things really worked, and the effects weren't merely the placebo effect, as is the most logical explanation for the very few determiend soles who claimed it has worked, why isn't everyone using this all the time? Why isn't it recommended by doctors and hippies alike all over the world to everyone?

6) Spiritual energy? Unfortuantely this is the realms of pseudo-science - energy is a well defined physical property used by physicists to calculate the changes in both enthalpy and entropy in all systems in the world. I'm assuming therefore that my spiritual energy is measurable in some way, and can be scaled in joules? Do I have, say 30% less joules than a minister if I don't have the therapy? perhaps I only have 200 J, and the pope has 23kJ? Baring in mind, there are 230kJ of energy in a packet of salt n vinegar crips.

Thats that vented off my chest.
Next time, I'll be discussing the power of miracles through religeous prayer.

How is everyone?

And I suppose crystal healing should be the following topic - its more retarded than light healing
