So I live in Michigan, in the capital city of Lansing, and we have a really great radio station here (i know, not a norm in these days!) run by the local university - impact89fm.org
Every weekday evening at 5 they have a 'Top 5 at 5' where they play the top 5 requested songs of the day. And of all the songs from The Boy With No Name, Sailing Away is consistently in the top 5! Yay for radio exposure here in the States!
Also, I just wanted to state to the Web Team that the board looks *awesome* even on my Mac. In fact, the entire site loads much quicker and it's just beautiful! Great job :)

Hey! I'm from Michigan too! I live in White Lake...west of Waterford/Pontiac. I can't believe you actaully heard Travis!!!!! I've been listening to 89X and NOTHING! Good to know Lansing has a decent station!
So did you see Travis last time they were here at the State Theatre? I'm so excited for them to come back!

Woo! Hi there Nikki!
Yes, I've seen Travis twice on their far too infrequent visits to Michigan - once at the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor in 2001 and once at the State Theatre in Detroit where I was smooshed up against the barrier right smiling up at Mr. Dunlop himself. Both experiences were absolutely amazing and I cannot WAIT for them to come back.
I think you might be able to stream the impact if you can listen online during the day. Plus, if you have AIM, you can request Travis and they play lots of it. They have played everything from Side to my request for U16 Girls. Always good times. Hope to meet you at a future show :)

Sailing Away would make an awesome single. But I know it wont be one, 'cos its been shunned into that place known as the 'hidden track' black hole. And when a track goes there, it's never going to be spit back up as a single. =(
You gotta play it at the forest gig, Travis! It’s a must! :) |

Wow, that's pretty amazing considering it's a hidden track.
My weird Travis radio experience came when we saw them earlier this month in San Francisco, headed over to Denny's after (around 2:00 am) and heard Sing playing over the loudspeaker in the restaurant....what a trip! |

The Impact! A few of my friends used to work for that station when I was in college (I went to MSU). I did an episode of "Sit or Spin" with them once - do they still do that?
Glad to hear they're playing new Travis, and a great track at that. |

or deserves to be, it's also my favorite one at the moment, it is stunning by its purity and deserves to be released as a single to my ears and heart. It would make a great break in music history to release it also because it's a hidden track.

yes, they STILL do the Sit Or Spin, although it being on Sunday night makes it tough for me to tune in.
I love the Impact though. They play loads of Travis, and always take my requests for Idlewild and South as well. I love that I can request it via AIM, instant requestage! heheh
