Did you guys see who McCain chose for his vice presidential candidate? a female senator from alaska! I can't believe it, I mean, it's great but wow, we are living in historic times. now as to why he chose her (his real motivations) we have yet to find out but wow.... |

I think this is 100% a political move- trying to take some voters who would have voted for Hillary and aren't totally sold on Obama.
I'm sure that he respects her so I don't think he picked her just because she's a woman but I don't know if you were being gender blind if she is truly the strongest pick. |

i agree completely, i mean after obama's speech last night i'm sure the mccain army was sweating! and this is a desperate move to get those who, like you said were going to vote for hillary just because she is a woman. |

i saw that. I feel bad for this Palin, no one is going to believe she was chosen on her own merit, just bc she is a woman and it is a politican move.
oh well, Obama will hopefully win and it wont matter |

I can see what you mean. It's unfortunate because she is a governor so she has got to have some smarts about her (let's not use GW Bush as an example of an ex-governor) but I mean seriously there is no way she was chosen purely for her merit. No one has hardly heard of her!

WOW, My first thought was that it was a bold but obvious move. He's not a spring chicken, so you might end with a youngish female president… I was actually half expecting Condi to be the running mate ;^)
It's somehow a bit pathetic. |

Just read about McCain and Palin. I too wonder about his motives, but I do hope that she was picked for her abilities. I wouldn't know, never heard of her before. |

exactly, she doesn't have a reputation for anything, although she is being investigated for getting some guy fired for not firing an ex brother in law of hers, crazy huh? |

:) she is married for 20 years have 5 kids, and you still think she is hot:) Good for her...
Apparently she is known for all the cleaning up (against corruption) she did in Alaska. I thought her speech was good. If she was not a republican, not against abortion, and not pro-war, I would have liked to see her in the White House. Good for them that I can not vote. |

Sounds a bit crazy. Semi-nepotism or something like that. |
