Just got the new Q Magazine delivered today, dated October 2008 (With a scary old-looking picture of Noel Gallagher on the front..)
Guess what I found inside...
Page 144 (top)
[Caption] Travis: 'Singalongs are out, edginess is in.'
Page 144 (bottom)
The tour advert:- (Page 195)
... there is also some amazing Travis news on page 187.
I shall keep this to myself for a while longer in order not to spoil it and to give time for The Travis Web Team / Fran and the band to reveal it properly.
Trust me, it is worth waiting for... |

You sure? Because if I buy it and it's not worth it, you'll be in trouble! ;)
Thanks for the scans, I really can't see what problem the reviewer has with them though, it's as if they're too diverse. :S Is the album really only 34 minutes!? It's no wonder they're planning on releasing one every 18 months :P |

Edgy and urgent are compliments. I'm ok with this review. I think that despite the reviewer's reservations/ concerns, it's more positive than negative.
Please pm me the news on p 187, I'm ill in bed, and don't think I'll be able to get to a store to get hold of Q this weekend. Pretty please! |

Now you made me all curious.. I might go and buy Q Magazine for a horrendously expensive price on Monday. :D Which issue is it (September 08?), so I don't get the wrong one ;)
As to the review.. I'm used to Travis not getting good reviews. I thought they would get better ones now since Ode to J Smith doesn't seem as 'traditional Travis' as maybe TBWNN did, but pfft. Obviously music magazines just don't like them. :D |

I am in the same situation... I'm from Spain, so I can't find that magazine here... Could anybody tell all no-UK people what's on page 187, please?
I wonder why CDs/books/etc. reviews still exist... Do the critic think that their opinion is the only right? Kisses!! |

I'm hoping for some great reviews but it's another 3 star review which is ok.
Anyone want to PM me this thing that nobody is talking about on here?... :) |
