Hi guys, how y'all doin?
I'm getting married a fortnight tomorrow, and we still haven't sorted out the most important thing - our first dance.
Of cource, it has to be Travis, because we've both loved them from the year dot and have lots of fond gig memories together. But I wondered if I could get an outsiders point of view - what would make a perfect Travis wedding song? I've listened to everything a hundred times, for research puroposes, of course :-) But I still can't decide.
Please help me! |

Yeah, I'd go with "Closer" or "Flowers In The Window"...
A lot of Travis songs are about love lost or feeling lonely, so it's sorta hard if you're listening to the lyrics. For some reason, I've always imagined dancing to "The Connection" at my wedding...not as a first song, but just as one of the songs. I think it has this really cool retro feel and the drum beat is great to dance to...that and "Selfish Jean" because it's just so fun! :)

ok, I'd prefer MORE THAN US I guess its the best song ever for a first dance with someone who really love... I mean, I'm single by the moment but I wish dance someday this song in my wedding... would be so a glorious song for this special moment...

It's hard to think of songs that work for the first dance since that traditionally is slow and some of the slow ones are wrestling with love issues. Not exactly what you want to be saying with your song choice, I'm sure! : )
My suggestions (in order of preference):
1. Humpty Dumpty Love Song
2. Indefinitely (not a straight out love song but "I wanna stay here/indefinitely" is a good sentiment)
3. I Love You Anyways
Good luck. I'm sure two Travis fans will pick the song that feels right for the two of you.
Edit: I do love "More Than Us" a whole whole lot.

songs like Happy can be added
but not for the first dance
first dance should be romantic |
