I decided to read the Twilight series and got the books this weekend. I was happy to see in the acknowledgments that she gave shout-out to the bands she listen to while she writes. Her favorite band is Muse but she gave props to Travis as well.
Edit: Check out her playlist

I've head a lot about this Twilight thing for a while, is it a book or a tv series? |

I think someone posted something about this in the General thread. Yeah she has a playlist for every book. She's an even bigger Muse fan. |

That's so cool that she gave a shout out to Travis. I'm totally doing that when I write my first novel. :O)
Thanks, Anne. I'll have to check this series out. I've seen them at the bookstore and they seem really popular. Must be a good read.

that's debatable...
if you're a romance - deprived girl ages 14-21 with a thing for vampires, then yeah, it's a great read. |

I'm digging them. I'm not bowled over by them but I am really enjoying them. |

I remember a friend talking about this series months ago, and then all of a sudden it seems to be some huge crazy thing! I really have no interest in it, and it doesnt help that his fashion blog that i read (gofugyourself) makes it seem uber creepy. BUT...it's cool that there is a Travis shoutout.
Nikki, can you give a shoutout to your boardie pals too? lol |

I had vaguely heard about them but I think it's reached fever pitch since the final book came out plus the movie comes out this December.
I don't find them uber creepy. It's more a love story than about vampires. If you can buy that their love is special then you might like it. I wasn't sure if I could but apparently I can.
The author seems cool though and I like that she shares her musical tastes. |

Vampire love is special. What a nice sentiment. I think I'll start writing Valentine/Halloween cards. |

LOL. Does it help that he's a "nice" vampire? He only drinks animal blood. |

I really know nothing about the story..the women that writes the blog just thinks his watching out for her in her house (yes? is this accurate?) is creepy and not actually romantic, and i guess im easily influenced, lol. She is funny and it made me laugh.
Its not my kinda thing anyways..vampires and the like (yes, i get it, it's not just about vampires, but...doesnt seem like me).
That would make an excellent halloween/valentines card though, you are right Kayte!
and no, it isnt okay that he drinks animal blood. I like animals. Sometimes more than peoople. |

It isn't very appealing to me either but the argument presented in the book is if you eat animal meat as a human, what is the difference? They're being killed either way.
Also, and this made me laugh, the lead guy (Edward) points out to the girl (Bella) that they are very careful not to upset the environmental balance. Meaning they don't kill too many of a certain animal in a certain forest. |

Is it a good series if you just like vamps? Or is there a lot of crappy romance in it? :s |
