Honestly?? I would say No.7 or 8 in its week of release but then maybe top 20 after that. I would like it to be higher obviously, I guess it'll depend on the lead single and airplay. But bands like Supergrass who, like Travis, are still churning out good stuff, are finding it harder to get the exposure now, and so the new stuff tends to loiter around the lower reaches of the charts unfortunately. |

Yeah i would probably say the same. I think as you said bands like stereophonics, supergrass, travis, etc.. who 5 -7 years ago were getting a lot exposure just dont seem to be as popular in recent years. I dont know why, i guess exposure has something to do with it and maybe people's tastes have changed.
I think from the little bits I have heard there are potentially some really good songs on the new album.
I went to the Portsmouth gig for the new album rehearsals and I have also seen some of the clips on youtube and I have to say I really like chinese blues. J Smith obviously is also very good. I would say the whole album seems rto be pretty strong.
I think if the new album doesnt do well then i'm not sure what more travis can do to top the charts.. so to speak.
Cant wait to hear the new stuff tho...:) |

I dunno I think we're underestimating Travis' album success. They've always made the top 10 and, since Good Feeling, their lowest chart position peak has been 4. Not bad really. So I'm going to go with top 5. But it does, as others have said, depend on publicity and the popularity of the first single(s). |

Hopefully they might do a special edition version of it which has live versions of the new songs as well |

This is the thing that lets me down with Travis (obvisouly not the band's fault!) is they don't seem to promote singles/albums enough. I'm talking in terms of posters, televison/radio adverts, newspaper features etc. Maybe (and quite probably)it was the fault of the record label. Now that contract has finished I hope Travis get onto a really major label (any word on that yet?)
The recent chart postions have been really disapointing, consdering they make the best music around! |

I think the new album will go straight to number 1 in 23 countries and will stay there for 3 and a half years and sell 58 million copies world wide by 2011.
Or it might limp in at 9, and then drop to 16, before leaving the top 20 forever. |

Haha wishful thinking for the first part Ben! The second may be nearer the truth unfortunately.

I'm predicting it will do equally well as The Boy With No Name... which is... not so very good.
But I hope I'm wrong on this one.
I have faith in Travis making another great album, and receiving good reviews for it (which is often good for sales) |
