I only worked in the morning today, had hairdressers' at noon and went around sales after that (only bought non-sales items. though). So that makes it almost a 3-day weekend!
It was a lovely day here today, I took my bike to the center and back, it would've been too hot to go by tram. I wore my new t-shirt :^)

It's the 12th weekend here so we get Saturday, Monday and Tuesday off! Plus we are going on STRIKE on Wednesday and Thursday. But I don't care as I am off now for 2 weeks and 2 days! LOL |

If it gets you an extra day off, you don't question it. 12th weekend, oh of course! I can't be expected to work then! I also take the 24th weekend off, as it is the second 12th weekend! Right-o! |

The Twelfth is an annual Protestant celebration on 12 July, originating in Ireland. It is alternatively known also as Orangemen's Day or as the Boyne celebrations, commemorating the Battle of the Boyne in 1690, and the Glorious Revolution. It is occasionally known as the Glorious Twelfth, but that term is more commonly used to refer to 12 August. Members of the Orange Institution stage parades throughout Northern Ireland, England (mainly Liverpool and then Southport), Scotland (mainly the west of Scotland) and the Republic of Ireland (the main one being Rossnowlagh, County Donegal). It must be noted that although it is known as a Protestant celebration, not all Protestants celebrate it, whether for political or cultural reasons, or for reasons of indifference.
All you need to know
I don't really celebrate it, when we were very young my parents used to get us up out of bed and go and watch the bonfires on the 11th, it was exciting for a child but now is pointless to me! All the pollution. Plus they attract the worst kind of people (sorry if I offend anyone).
Most people clear off and go on hols over this period to avoid any "troubles" and that's why everyone is so happy with the very long weekend.
