Been just really depressed - my 15 year old kitty is dying of kidney failure and I'll probably have to have her put to sleep tomorrow. It's really tough and you'd think I'd be able to handle it better knowing she's as old as she is...
but it's still really hard. I'm 34 years old and I'm crying my eyes out wondering when I'll feel better :/ |

I'm so sorry for you and your poor cat.
it's really hard letting go of a loved pet, but your cat has obviously lived a good life to make it to that age.

nikki, that's the name of my kitty :) whenever i see you post i think of her and i think it will eventually give me a smile once i'm through some of this grief.

Oh, I´m sorry to hear that your kitty is so sick...
I would really suffer if anything happened to my two little cats, Olimpia and Minina...
I know what it´s like to lose a pet. My little dog, Rocky died at the age of 18, we had to put him to sleep too... my mum and I cried for weeks.

I'm really sad to hear your news . My old cat died of kidney failure at age 19yrs 4 months although I was able to keep him alive witb Fortekor tablets and blood pressure checks for a few years after he was diagnosed. Presumably its too advanced for medication ?
If so , its better to let her go as I remember the vet telling me that he was being poisened to death and it would be cruel to see it out.
I was able to have this done on a home visit and so was able to spend some time with him afterwards which really helped me adjust. |

thank you so much everyone for your kind words. she's drinking a little water right now and i'll be calling the vet to either get some advice or possibly take her in. whether or not it's the last time she'll be with me remains to be seen.
i'm pretty cried out at this point. thank you everyone again. |

| I lost a cat to kidney failure when he was 10 years old. It was very sad, and very hard, but we had to have him put to sleep, he was in misery. I was sad for so long. (hug) |
