i don't get it.

do you have to die to be good? a mediocore talent at best yeah?

buckley had a great voice for what he did to be sure, but so does ronnie james dio, you know what i mean?

state your case.

I don't get the Jeff Buckley craze either, but I do like Elliott Smith. Fram A Basement On The Hill is very good when you're in a mellow mood.

Stand out tracks:

Let's Get Lost
A Fond Farewell
King's Crossing

I very much love Elliott Smith, but entirely see where you're coming from with Buckley.

It's always like that... They both had potential but they died before they could do a lot with it.

However, I think it's too much that the record companies insist on their 5 or 6 albums from that artist even if they died before they could record them. The result is just compilations en masse *sigh*

Have you ever seen the video for Hallelujah? Its recorded live in a studio. One man and his guitar. I defy you know to fall apart every time you hear that song. Grace is a flawed album, but is amazing nonetheless.

FYI - I don't own any of the hunners of other albums that now exist 'by' him. I don't see the point of them. Should just have been left at Grace.

I only have Grace as well.

Got Hallelujah on my MP3 player. I just love leaning back, close my eyes and listen to it. That and Lover, you should have come over.

Some time ago, some Danish artists made an album of Leonard Cohen songs in Danish. Hallelujah was made as a duet and it's great as well. However, Jeff Buckley's version is the best cover :o)

I really like both these guys and I'm hoping that "new" Elliott Smith albums will stop now that New Moon's out.I do think that these people are totally cashing in on Jeff Buckley though. The guy released one good album and now there are loads of them which I really don't agree with because all the scraping the bottom of the barrel albums will never be as good as Grace.

I'm imagining you're loking for a reaction Mr Haz, I don't think they're biting...

Personally I've never got the whole "Jeff" thing, yeah he has a good voice but so do loads of others. However on the death thing who knows?? Nick Drake may have sold out and became a pretentious arsehole if he had lived, and although I love Ian Curtis, he was already halfway there, doesn't mean tha both of them weren't talented tho'...

Btw, "Miss Jones" said you were unwell, hope yer back on yer feet.

Being dead does help, coz slagging off the dead is seen as rude.
Personally, I get bored.
