Woohooo! Can't wait to watch this...that is, if we ever get POWER BACK! I'm at work right now and had to shower this morning at my boyfriend's house. Our subdivision was turned upside down by a massive thunderstorm. Our house is OK, just had some really huge branches fall down, but our neighbors were not as lucky. We have huge oak trees in our subdivision and one fell on our neighbor's SUV and completely demolished it. Two other houses were hit with trees and had their roofs caved in and our next door neighbor's deck was hit by a tree and smashed the side railing. :/

Anyways, here's a cute little article from the Free Press about Nick and Ozzie on Leno for all the boardie hockey fans...

Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom and goaltender Chris Osgood are heading to Los Angeles for an appearance on Tuesday's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (11:35 p.m. on NBC, Channel 4 in Detroit).

Lidstrom, expected to win his sixth Norris Trophy as best defenseman at the NHL awards show in Toronto on Thursday, said he's looking forward to hitting the talk-show circuit.

"I've never done something like that," he said Saturday. "It'll be fun going on that show."

At least one member of the Wings, Tomas Holmstrom, told Lidstrom he'd tune in. "Homer said he's going to get a big bag of chips and watch the show," Lidstrom said.

The past 72 hours have been a blur for Lidstrom, the first European to captain a Cup winner.

"It's been hectic, a lot of fun, not a lot of sleep, but something you really enjoy and something you want to do again," he said.

Quick hits:

• With Big Brown not winning Saturday's Belmont, that keeps alive this Wings jinx: In each of the previous years the Wings have won the Cup, the same horse has won the first two races of the Triple Crown, but lost the third. Silver Charm did it in 1997, Real Quiet in 1998 and War Emblem in 2002. In 2008, Big Brown won the first two races, but not Belmont.

• Brian Rafalski and Kris Draper appeared at Comerica Park -- with the Cup -- to throw out Saturday's ceremonial first pitch.

I think I'll set the VCR for that one and watch it in the morning. I don't keep Tonight Show hours anymore!

We weren't nearly as badly hit by the storm. It rained hard for about 10 minutes and we had a little bit of lightning and hard winds and then it was all over.

oooh, i will definatly be watching. Any time hockey makes the mainstream media, Im there! Even when it's the stinkin' Ducks last year!
Sorry to hear about your power! Apperently a tornado touched down somewhere in Southern Ontario, but we werent hit too badly. For a time the rain was actually a nice break from the heat.

I guess I don't have to watch my tape now. Yeah, gees, they didn't even get to sit down! Osgood...ahhhhhhhhhh.

Don and I watched the victory parade last night. (I had to tape most of it because I had to leave for the picnic and Don didn't get to see any of it.) They all seem so nice and so happy. It was cute after the rally when everyone was taking pictures of their kids with the cup. One of the players put his daughter in it and she started bawling because she was scared. They said that the Stanley Cup has even been used for a couple of baptisms.
