It's not on my version of The Man Who. And I have no extra songs on The Invisible Band but I do have all of them. |

I only have "Blue Flashing Light" on my version of The Man Who. I was really surprised when WeirdMommy (Anne) told me her version had "20" and "Only Molly Knows" a while back when we were all debating over the definition of a B-Side vs. Hidden Track. But wait, some of you also have a hidden track on The Invisible Band?!? Mine doesn't have any. Which song(s)? |

You've got the same versions as me. :) 14 songs on my version of The Boy. Don't like hidden tracks. Like the songs, just not the way they're on the album. |

Time to roll out the travis.ography links again: :)
The Man Who
The Invisible Band
I believe it's only on the US version that 20 is a b-side, and it evidently wasn't planned to be on the album. I wouldn't want it to be really, TMW has such a great ambience, and I don't think it fits, it's too jaunty and acoustic and bouncy - it would have had to be a hidden track, but it doesn't deserve that. I think title of best b-side is better than being an average album track. |

I thought that BFL was only on the UK release of TMW, but that clearly is wrong. I've certainly only known 20 as a b-side.
To answer the original question, it's a rites of passage song. All about being misunderstood as a teenager.
Even tho that time has long past for me, and I have 2 teenaged kids of my own, 20 has always given me chills. It's stunning, especially live. |

Yeah, exactly. I believe in album's being designed to be played all the way through and seen as one piece of work. Bonus tracks just spoil the flow, like chocolate would spoil a perfect roast dinner despite it being nice on its own. |

Exactly right. If it is good enough to be on an album it should be on it's own track. If it doesn't suit the album then wait until it does suit an album. Radiohead waited 10 years to put Nude on an album. That's how I feel anyway. I'd be disappointed if there is a hidden song after Before You Were Young (they've not mentioned another, but it wouldn't be secret then) because it is such a perfect end to the album. If they do have another song, put it before Before You Were Young or wait 'til album 7. :) |

I'm from the US and my copy of The Man Who has "BFL" as a hidden track. Also, travis.orgaphy lists "Ring Out The Bell" and "You Don't Know What I'm Like" as the extra tracks for The Invisible Band in the US...but mine doesn't have any. How did I get the UK version of both these albums in US stores? Or where these versions only offered for a limited time? Hmmm... |
