I attempted to send this a few minutes beforehand, but not sure I actually submitted it. If so, sorry to make you read it again. If not, I'll gladly take your suggestions on this subject!
I am making a mix cd. I have in mind some of the bands I want, but I can't decide on what songs I should put on, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, here's a sample of the bands I'm thinking of. And if you've actually recently made a mix cd that you thoroughly enjoy, feel free to list the songs you put on it. Thanks!
- Air Traffic
- Athlete
- Bloc Party
- The Verve/Richard Ashcroft
- Stone Roses/Ian Brown
- Band of Horses
- Idlewild
- Oasis
- U2
- Travis (obviously)
- Coldplay
- Kooks
- The View
- James
- Liam Finn
- Kings of Leon
- Modest Mouse
- Youth Group
- Radiohead (not a slow one!)
- Augustana
- The Fray
And many more similar bands in this vein. |

Starlight isn't Muse's best song but it fits with the others. Not heard this?:

I'm going for a sort of lazy rock theme:
- Air Traffic - Come On
- Athlete - either You Got The Style or Hurricane
- Bloc Party - don't know them much, but liked The Prayer a lot :)
- The Verve/Richard Ashcroft - I know you've heard it a million times, but Bittersweet Symphony fits quite well with my theme :)
- Oasis - The Importance of Being Idle
- U2 - Beautiful Day or With Or Without You
- Travis - maybe Tied To The 90s, maybe Walking In The Sun
- Coldplay - In My Place
- Kooks - Ooh La
- Radiohead - I've only got The Bends, so I pick... The Bends :P
That was quite fun! Anyone else? |

Hi Emmy!
Here are my choices:
- The Verve/Richard Ashcroft: Music is power, Drugs don't work
- Oasis: Talk tonight, The Masterplan,
- U2: Slow dancing (b-side), Stay (Far away, So close!)
- Travis: Twenty, Reason, 3 times and you lose, Indefinitely, The cage, Dear Diary. Well, all Travis songs are great!
- Radiohead: Black Star, I can't
- Coldplay: See you soon
I would add:
The Strokes: Last nite
Keane: Bend and Break
Blur: The Universal, Coffee and TV
Hope it helps! :)

I would totally agree with this! And would also add Beetlebum.
The Verve: Lucky Man
Oasis: Born on a Different Cloud (I really love it at the moment)
Radiohead: Definetly something from The Bends, Planet Telex
Coldplay: Rush of Blood to the Head |
