I'm reading a Fran interview and in his answer he says 'och aye the noo'... my scottish knowledge helps me only in understanding that aye is yes

I think it does mean that, but I doubt whether Scottish people actually say it much, and everyone else uses it wrong, so don't read into the meaning too much. It's just an expression of Scottishness.

Absolutely. Just something Scottish that nobody understands. Like Haggis. A strange creature with 6 legs the size of a small dog. Only found in Scotland.
