Here are the lyrics and here is a translation.
If you want to sing them, good luck on learning the latin! |

Salve, pia Anima
Labor tuus nunc ad terminum
sed, per deos, vade retro!
nomen nusquam video
Carbo in culo in aeternitatem
Placet sataneae te vedere!

They're from the song, so the translation is linked to in my post above.
The third and sixth lines end with exclamation marks, not ls, so they are
Sed, per deos, vade retro!
and Placet Satanae te vedere! |

I can sing up to "vade retro".
After that, I can't follow the choir, I don't understand any words they're singing xD. If anyone knows how to sing along, please let me know, I'm interested :oP.
(I know how to pronounce the words in latin, I don't know how to make them fit the melody the choir is singing) |

Hi old thread, I know, But: I'm arranging the songs for our little show. Now I'm stuck with J.smith...(lyrics.)
Does anyone have the translation for the latin part? I'm not so good at latin and got this so far (but at one point, it just doesn't make any sense anymore!!)
Heaven:
Salve, pia anima: Be greeted, righteous soul.
Labor tuus nunc ad terminum: Your work is now at the end.
Sed per deos vade retro: But through God(with the help of God), go back(again).
Hell:
Nomen nusquam video: The(your) I see your/the name nowhere. (guess on the big list)
Carbo in culo in aeternitatem: Coal to arse (???) for eternity?
Placet Satanae te vedere: That pleases the enemies(? here demons); to watch you.
anyone better at latin than me? cos this is kinda weird...well demons are weird..but that weird?

Hi Nora! As James posted at the begining of the thread, here you can find a translation.
And I know what you mean about the "Nomen nusquam video" part. I can't hear it either. |

Ah ok,
the 2effective" part can't be right..but the "thrown back ashes" makes much more sense. I wonder how she translated it...
since culus means..well arse...
what also doesn't work is "Satanae" - since satanus is masculin..so it would be either satano or satanis...strange...
thanks for the help though!! |

Yes, if you read my post in that thread, I was confused with "culo" too, lol.
You're right about the noun being masculine, but it's Satana(s), satanae (nominative singular, genitive singular). So you have to decline it as a masculine noun of the first declension, so "satanae" is correct :o).
That's what I think, anyway! I haven't studied Latin since 2002, so I don't remember much, lol. |

You're welcome! :o)
Yes, Satanas does exist, I'm pretty sure. And if you ever find out the "culo" thing, please let me know xD.
Edit: This sounds like a conversation about religion: "does Satana exist?" "Yes, Satanas does exist". Lol! |
