Don't think people have picked up my point about it ... I think we have the friends thing because: it allows us to keep up with the people we speak most to on the board - for example, for a long time I was only really speaking to certain people on here like sunny and vicky. and secondly if we meet someone on here at a gig it gives us the option to add them and keep in touch that way.
Secondly, a lot of people, including myself, feel uncomfortable speaking to boardies outside of the board like MSN and emails ... so if we want to keep in touch an easier way there's the option to use the comment box. Secondly, I think the profile page idea, stops people from simply posting FAO posts and lets you write whatever you have to say on their profile pages instead of the whole board where its in everyone's attention (anyone can read it).
The friends thing is a bit confusing cos most of us are virtual strangers but the web team have probably picked up that many friendships and groups have formed on here over the years and its the best way for people to keep in touch easier rather than searching through pages and pages to see when your mate was last online!! |

had a thought, if you go on to bebo you have the option to post publicly or privately, its maybe about what your posting, the WebTeam don't want to have to ban you for writing anything offensive so they're putting it in ur hands to use private message if you have something to say taht could offend others ...

there is no need to be so hostile i was only asking you to help me understand your topic is all, there was quite a lot to take in there and i was only asking for a more detailed explaination, i don't see how that can be misconstrued (look it up) as awkward. |
