I took an exam about a month ago to graduate junior-high school (middle school) without going to school. (I'm a homeschooler!) And today, I checked out the results of it, and I Passed with quiet good marks!!! =D
I'm shouting "Yahoo" and "Yeah" alone and to my family. :P Hehe. I'm really happy now, I don't know why I'm writing this here, but I just wanted to do so.
Anyway hope all of you to have a wonderful day too! :) |

Yay! For you homeschoolers, do you like it or not? Do you miss the social aspect of school? Do you find you get to learn more about what you are interested in, rather than having to follow a set curriculum?
I really like the idea of homeschooling for my kids (for various reasons), but I worry about not having the close friendships that form at school. |

I love it! But I'm looking forward to college just as much. The was no social aspect to school when I went. I never had any friends, just bullies, but it all depends on the individual child I guess. I've found that I have learned so much more than I would have done had I stayed in the school system, such as playing my musical instruments, driving off-road, communicating well with adults (something that college commended all home ed kids with) and so many useful skills that I could put to use in 'the real world' which you don't learn inside a school.
The social aspect is what most people find so terrifying about home education. I've been out of school for 8 years and whenever I meet anyone and they find out about my education the thing they ask first is 'How do you socialise?'. As this normally happens at one of my 'youth clubs' I just reply: 'Well, you're talking to me aren't you?' :-P |
