At least that's what Tim Rice-Oxley says in a blog:
Quote: Fran came down and played us the new Travis album, which sounds brilliant, and then joined us for a long night in the bar, where we ate banana splits, drank terrible beer, and argued about In Rainbows. |

Oh! That's pretty cool. I like Keane's music. But yeah, totally unfair about them listening to the album! :P I wonder which side of the argument Fran was on regarding In Rainbows. Hmmm.

Pretty sure Fran has stated his disappointment of Radiohead's recent work. I've read a comment where he said something negative about Weird Fishes on In Rainbows.
And Tim is right. Obviously I've not heard the final album but it really is going to be brilliant. The songs are. Its going to surprise a lot of people, including some people on the board probably. We know Travis can rock when they want to so for us lot, its not hugely surprising but a lot of people will be shocked. :) |

No no weird fishes is cool! :D In Rainbows is one of my favourite albums.
And Travis and Keane are my favourite bands so, for me, this would be an awesome conversation to gatecrash lol. |

Probably arguing over whether it was any good or not. Fran was saying that Thom Yorke's forgot about writing melodys or something. Can't remember exactly, it was quite a few months ago now, last year actually. Read it on a Radiohead forum. Obviously everyone then slated Travis and Fran. Tried to stick up for them but I had about 20 of them on me and 1 on my side so gave up. Haven't been there since. Hate some Radiohead fans. Its like they only listen to other music so that they can compare to Radiohead and then slag it off.
I like Radiohead. Well, kind of. They've released some awful stuff but Ok Computer is genius and I really enjoyed In Rainbows actually. Videotape is AWFUL but 7 songs on the album are very good which is a great ratio for recent Radiohead albums. Hope they return to their Bends/OK Computer era next time though. Doubt it. |
