Ahh, there is nothing like running form the music store to your car to rip the plastic wrap off of a new Travis album and playing it for the first time. :) Can't wait for "Ode to J. Smith" !!!
Happy B-Day to TBWNN - a GREAT album! |

Yeah! That is such a great feeling. The anticipation and excitement. I remember my Dad coming into my bedroom with The Invisible Band as a present and I just sat on my bed listening to it thinking it was ace.
Then 12 memories, bought in Fopp on Byres Road and listening to it in my mate's car a few seconds later.
J. Smith next...
Does anyone else think that downloads kind of do away with that magic a bit? |

I guess there's the slightly less honourable magic of keeping your money in your pocket. That said, I've bought every album on cd except the boy, which I got later (Mrs Esteban bought it me for Christmas) after having it on my laptop for ages. |

You can still do that??
I just go on iTunes and start playing after the first song has downloaded.... |

I don't have an iPod, and even if I did, I'd still go buy the Travis album the old school way. I need the lyrics, the artwork...the whole thing. |

Absolutely agree Nikki! Although I couldn't go without my lovely iPod Touch. Using it to type this in fact. :) I listen to it before I go to sleep every night, normally a podcast.
I love my iPod! :) haha
Though I order CDs over the net now. Either Play.com or Amazon. Cheaper and it means I don't have to go into town which would be out of my way and expensive. I wouldn't listen until I got home anyway. |
