I think there are 3 options for you to be absolutely certain about it
- You asked Fran
- You have access to that kind of info
- You wrote the song and they stole it from you =P

Yeah, I think so too. The line "I'll never leave like you", is most likely directed to Fran's father, who left the family in Fran's early days. |

Maybe his family history inspired him to write the song but I doubt he would directly say, "yes this about my father" (at least in public) since he's made it quite clear that he doesn't have a relationship with that person. |

Also, all songs are personal, and that would be particularly personal, so he has a right to not say anything and expect us not to ask. It's brave to write anything about your emotions, because you're opening yourself up to many people. Would you read a poem you'd written in public? :) |
