I just found this link from contactmusic.com in my email box:-
http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/travis%20stars%20to%20play%20gig%20with%20car%20parts_1065329
TRAVIS drummer NEIL PRIMROSE and guitarist ANDY DUNLOP are set to play a gig using an unusual set of musical instruments - made of old car parts.
The Scottish rockers will perform with a special drum kit and guitar, made from discarded pieces of a Ford Focus automobile, as part of a charity fundraiser for the U.K.'s Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Albert Hall on Friday (11Apr08).
Primrose says, "I've played drum kits made of all sorts of nonsense, from cardboard boxes to packing cases and plastic. So I thought, why not give this a try?
"It's all for a good cause and we never know what other celebrity names might join us up on stage tonight. Scotland needs something like this event to help children with cancer."
Anyone know any more information about this please?
It's a pity that there wasn't more notice that they would be there.
Sounds like a cool idea anyway. Thanks for any extra info!
[EDIT] - I've just done a bit of searching and found some pictures at this link via Uncle Google:-

Also this link to the Daily Record, with a really fantastic, fascinating long interview with Neil:-

The Neil Interview:-

ps - I'm really interested to know what songs they performed at the gig. |

How interesting, that's very neat! Thanks for the links and whatnot. The interview with Neil is great, we don't hear him much in group interviews and such- it's nice to hear only him every now and then! |

Wow! What a great interview with Neil! That's the most I've ever hear him talk, lol! I agree. It's really nice to hear him speak up! (hint, hint, Neily...I think you should start postin')! Did anyone go to, or know about this event? Too bad it wasn't posted up in the news section here!
Haha...I love that you can hear the reporter typing away. That's me everyday at work trying to keep up because my damn phone doesn't have a speaker so I can't use my recorder.
Thanks for posting this. :)

I'll take a look at the interviews tomorrow thanks. I didn't know about this at all. The Ford advert is great. Love the music. :) Muse played there tonight. If you're a Muse fan, read this: They played Megalomania... with Matt on the organ!!! Yes! Yes! Yes! :) And apparently they had a camera fixed to it so they recorded it!!! Seen ok video on YouTube of it... sounds phenomenal! Sorry guys, big thing for any big Muse fans of the board. I don't think there is a Travis equivalent to that.
I won't be able to sleep at all now! :) |

When I said I'd rather give up on the one-way informations flow, of course I meant every information except shows/appearances infos... as this one!
(It's just that the Royal Albert Hall in 5 mins down my road... and that's the potential of this city that still scares me, there's so much going around that you end up not knowing it...)
